General Functions: |
Provide machine installation, demonstration, maintenance, and repair services in a manner which will encourage customers to purchase or recommend the purchases of Komatsu America Industries LLC, Cutting Technologies Division (CTD) products, accessories, and services. Primary service area is Southern United States. |

Specific Responsibilities: |

Contact customer prior to new machine installation to review CTD pre-installation requirements to ensure that the customer has completed all required tasks and is ready for the arrival of the machine and Installation Technician.

Inspect, adjust, start-up, and demonstrate safe set-up, safety precautions, operation, and maintenance. Review Operator's Maintenance Manual and demonstrate controls and safety features in all modes of operation with customer personnel.

Provide, warranty and post-warranty support including, problem diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and training services. Recommend parts, accessories, and labor necessary to maintain safe and reliable operation of equipment.

Visit assigned customers to observe machine operation and safety conditions; identify key service contacts and discover customer needs for equipment, accessories, and service.

Present, explain, and assist customer in the selection of accessories, parts, and services which meet customer needs.

Communicate new machine sales opportunities to CTD sales or distributor personnel.

Prepare and submit service, inspection, time, expense, and other reports regarding all service activities.

Provide feedback to Service Manager regarding product quality and reliability. Prepare paperwork as required to suggest product and/or process improvement.

Report non-standard customer requirements, deviations in safety, machine performance, and/or dissatisfaction with CTD equipment, accessories, or services to management.

Represent CTD in a professional and businesslike manner. Develop and maintain customer goodwill and loyalty.

Accountable for the proper use and security of all CTD property.

Perform all other work as assigned at CTD or in the field. In-house work at CTD will require phone support and in house customer repairs.

Travel overnight, in many cases on short notice, as required.

Job Qualifications: |
High school education and two or more years of additional technical school education or equivalent work experience in mechanical, and/or electronic systems maintenance and repair is required. Associates or bachelors degree in a technical discipline preferred. Proficiency with Windows, and/or UNIX a plus.
Proven ability to start-up, demonstrate, and repair assigned products without supervision.
Ability to travel (approximately 30%)on short notice is a must. Valid drivers license and ability to obtain a passport required.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills a must.
